First, gather your main ingredients.
Cook the 1 1/2 cup of lentils according to the directions. This should take about 15-20 minutes.
While the lentils are cooking, dice the onion and cook it for about 5-7 minutes in the oil until it's nice and translucent.
When the lentils are done, drain them and add them to the pan the onions are in.
Mix the chili seasoning, ketchup and the water together in a small bowl.
Then, add it into the onion and lentil mix. Stir well.
Simmer for about 4 minutes and you're done.
Eat with biscuits or Texas toast - so good!
