Ingredients

  • 10 apples a variety
  • 1 orange
  • half a lemon
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 stick of salted butter
  • 2 tablespoons of cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of all spice and nutmeg

Instructions

  • First - you need to peel and core all of your apples - then cut into quarters.
  • Next - zest the orange and the 1/2 lemon.
  • Then, juice them both.
  • Put the apples in a dutch oven or a very large casserole dish.
  • Cover the apples with the zest and the fresh juices - then top with all the spices and sugar.
  • Then, cut the butter into chunks and mix in. Stir everything so it's evenly coated.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
  • Once it's out of the oven, mash lightly and serve.
