Apple Butter Rolls

This twist on a classic cinnamon roll is fun and a great way to use some apple butter! Let’s bake up these apple butter rolls.
Plus, I’m hanging on to fall…trying to pretend that winter isn’t here, so I made a fall inspired recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 4.5 tablespoons of butter
  • 3 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1 packet of activated yeast
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1-2 cups of <a href="https://3ten.ca/recipe-apple-butter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">apple butter</a>

Instructions

  • First – gather all of your ingredients.
  • Then - warm the milk and melt 4.5 tablespoon of butter in the milk – set aside.
  • In the mixing bowl mix together half the flour, all the yeast, all the white sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Mix for about 1 minute.
  • Add in the milk and butter and the egg. Mix well for about 3 minutes.
  • Gradually add in the remaining flour and mix for 5 minutes.
  • Let the dough rest for about 7 minutes, then roll it out.
  • Once the dough is rolled out, slather on a lot of apple butter.
  • Roll tightly and then cut into 2-2.5 inch pieces.
  • Lay them in a well buttered baking dish and let stand for 25 minutes.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 23-25 minutes. Top with icing and eat.
