Travel: Mexico City Lunch Eats
Mexico City lunch eats! One of the trickiest meals for a Celiac while travelling is lunch, yet these CDMX eats don’t disappoint. Check out these three places and you’ll be one happy traveller! Why is lunch so hard while travelling? For me, it’s because our location changes from day-to-day. For breakfast, our starting point is the hotel, so it’s easy to navigate. Same with dinner, after a day of sightseeing we usually make our way back to the hotel before heading out for dinner. So…

Travel: Palacio De Bellas Artes
Palacio De Bellas Artes is an iconic building and museum in the heart of Mexico City. Enjoy the large parks, the paintings, and the people watching – be sure to check it out if you’re ever in CDMX. We stopped by on a Monday, and then again on a Wednesday and both times it was closed. Luckily for us, we saw all the paintings on the Thursday. Plus, it’s only a 20 minute walk from the Hotel Emporio and the stroll through the park is…

Travel: Hotel Emporio Mexico City
The Hotel Emporio Mexico City is in the Juárez neighbourhood, full of the city’s hustle and bustle. City centre is walking distance, the rates are fair, and the staff are friendly. Overall, a good place to stay in Mexico City! When we visited Mexico City in late October, early November the main attraction was the Mexico City Grand Prix. During race weekend (Thursday – Monday) we stayed at the Hyatt Regency Mexico City. That hotel is way, way nicer than this one. Yet the Hotel…

Travel: Lucha Libre
Lucha Libre – one of the fine arts of Mexico culture. We ventured off to the Mexico Arena to catch the 90 minute show of masked wresting. Not only was the crowd energetic and enthusiastic, some of the moves were wild. Check out the photos and a few videos below! Lucha Libre First up, I’d suggest buying your tickets online first. We visited on a Tuesday and since it was during Day of the Dead celebrations the arena was sold out. Arrive early, since you’ll…

Travel: Day of the Dead
Day of the Dead – Mexico City! When we were in Mexico City this past November for the F1 race we stayed the week after and enjoyed the November 2 Day of the Dead celebrations. The day is about honouring the dead and leaving offerings of their favourite foods, drinks, or small gifts. Okay, let’s check out some photos. Day of the Dead Parade? Yes! Check out this winning float. I’m loving the bright colours and the dimensions of the sculpture. So cool. Park celebrations?…

Recipe: Valentine’s Day Cookie Dough Rice Krispies
Gluten free Valentine’s Day cookie dough rice krispies. Say what? These chewy rice krispies are topped with gluten free cookie dough (I know!) and then dipped in chocolate and dusted with sprinkles. They’re so tasty. The chewy marshmallow treat is a great base for the sweetness of the GF cookie dough. Okay, let’s get baking! Ingredients The rice krispie recipe I use is a classic! Try it with Skor, Reese’s, or plain works, too. With any rice krispies, my go to cereal is Nature’s Path.…
