Take action now. So, here we are on November first, setting intentions. November Intentions Start small and set yourself…

It’s almost halloween which means it’s time for trick-or-treat bags! I got these ready for Tuesday night since Monday is a busy day. Last year we only had two kiddos, yet we’ve had a house go for sale in the area and I have no idea if they have zero or 9 children. Basically, I want to be prepared. Plus, having a couple of leftover treats isn’t a bad thing, right? Trick or Treat Bags First, stop at the Dollar Store. Here, the trick is…

Travel: Muttart Conservatory
Last week I shared our visit to the Alberta Legislature Building – doing some travelling in our own town (well, about 45 minutes away). Four beautiful pyramids, each a different climate: arid, temperate, tropical and then a feature pyramid. Muttart Conservatory First, admission is fairly reasonable. It’s $12.50 per adult, yet when I went with my dad and step-mom the lady at the desk was so kind she…

Travel: Alberta Legislature Building
Does it count as travel if you live near the area? I’m going to say yes – if it’s a touristy thing and you travel more than 30 minutes, it counts as travel! The Alberta Legislature Building is full of drama, classic portraits, and breathtaking architecture. My dad and step-mom visited back in September and we took them to the Legislature – not only is it beautiful, yet they offer free tours! Yes, free. Just don’t visit when the schools are there…150 sixth graders is…

Recipe: Chocolate Pumpkin Muffins
Chocolate pumpkin muffins – it’s time! It’s mid October and the pumpkin spice is all around. These muffins are healthy-ish and the perfect little afternoon snack, or even for a quick breakfast on the go. One of the main reasons I like making these is then I have enough pumpkin left over for these easy pancakes. Total score. Okay, let’s get baking. Ingredients 1 1/2 cup of gluten free flour 1/4 cup of coco powder 1/2 cup of sugar 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, baking…

Photos: Thankful
It’s Thanksgiving weekend and the leaves are blowing around the front yard and I’m thankful for so many things: my lovely little family, the strong connections I share with the amazing people in my life, a wonderful job and blogging. I’m so grateful to have a space where I can share my love for life. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t always love life – sometimes it is unfair, illogical, and dark; yet blogging, for me, moves me past that into the light. And, the…
