3ten

The name comes from?  Our address is 310, so that’s the start.  An English junkie, and a person who heavily reads into things, looks for underlying meanings, reasons, and signs, 3ten seems to fit.  Why?  My mother loves the number 3 – it has literature significance all the way from the 3 bears in Goldilocks to the 3 witches in Shakespeare’s MacBeth.  My dad’s address is 3,  3 medals in the Olympic games – airport codes are 3 letters long. Not to mention, then there’s the whole, ‘third times a charm’ saying.  Why ten? 3 plus 10 is 13, one of the unluckiest numbers.  We have 10 toes and 10 fingers.  The number system is made up of 9 numbers…as Christine DeLorey sates,

“There are only 9 numbers in existence. Every number beyond 9 is a variation of the original 9. The natural path for 10 is to bring things to the ‘next level’, where we start again, but with the advantage of knowledge accumulated along the way. 10 is about learning from past and present experience so that we can stop repeating the same old mistakes, and truly move forward. 10 is the number of innovation.”

3ten is just that, a place to learn and experience, and hopefully a little innovation – that’s the thought process behind 3ten – a blog born in July 2012.

I hope you have fun surfing, reading, and snooping around 3ten.ca!

Thanks for visiting,

P.S.

Special thanks to Greg who did a lot of research for me on hosting sites. Truthfully, I didn’t even know what hosting was 4 months ago. I could not have made the best decisions without your help.

Also, a very loving thanks to Bryce, my husband, who admits this is a good idea solely based on all the treats I make. But more than that, for continually telling me to start, and for encouraging me that sharing this side of myself with you isn’t as scary as it may seem in my head.

I’ll note, too, that I’m Canadian (hence the .ca) and in Canada we have 3 territories and 10 provinces. I see 3ten everywhere! Thanks for visiting.
