Travel: Granville Island Public Market

Granville Island Public Market

Granville Island is a delightful place to spend a few days. From the walkability to the market, you could stay on this peninsula that’s about 35 acres for an entire weekend and have everything you need. Truly, from art to fresh fruit, from steak (yes, there’s a Keg there!) to gluten free nanaimo bars, you can find it here. Okay, let’s check out some of our photos.

Okay – let’s check it out.

Granville Island

First up, the Public Market. This place is a little busy on the weekends, yet that’s when they have the best goods. I was super stoked when I saw this counter with 5+ gluten free baked goods. So awesome.

Not to worry, they have gluten packed treats, too.

The market has way more than baked goods, though. They have fresh fruit, fresh fish, coffee that’s roasted right in front of you, and so many other things – art, honey, sausage. It’s a true market.

We spent two nights on Granville Island and had breakfast and lunch at the market both days. We enjoyed the leisurely pace, reminisced about heartfelt memories, made new memories, and even bought some art that simply had to come home with us.

As for the food, it’s good. The one thing I like about markets is you can eat a variety of foods – chicken sandwiches, eggs on bagels, salads, or sausages. Everyone can be happy, darting off to find their own vendor and meeting back up in a communal area. So fun.
