Travel: Reykjavik Snapshot

Reykjavik snapshot – our first handful of days in this wonderfully colourful Nordic city have been awesome. From experiencing the Blue Lagoon, to museums, this place is packed with things to do, delicious food to eat, and many sights to see. Let’s check out a few highlights.
Reykjavik Snapshot
One of my favourite things to do when visiting a new city is to see it from above. Reykjavik isn’t that big, however, you can look out from the famous church tower. It’s worth checking out. Plus, be sure to stay for at least 15 minutes and you’ll hear the tower bells! So loud, yet so fun!

Reykjavik is a very walkable city. Most days we did over 10 kilometres, however, if needed you could take the hop on and hop off bus. There are a handful of different types of busses around to help you get from point to point. One thing Reykjavik or Iceland in general doesn’t have is Uber. They do have traditional taxis, though!

One highlight is all the little shops. Be sure to check them out if you have time. From Icewear to puffin art, you’ll find plenty of made in Iceland stuff. Even the pottery is worth checking out.

As for the architecture, it’s mostly traditionally Nordic with new buildings presenting a little more modern in a few ways – one of which being bigger and taller, which is in deep contrast to traditional buildings.

All in all, Reykjavik is a lovely little place to visit.
Thanks for stopping by and we’ll see you again soon! Happy travelling!
