Travel: Yas Bay

Yas Bay is worth checking out if you’re in the mood to wander around and people watch – have a nice meal on a patio and see the site of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Yas Bay is right around the corner from Yas Mall. Oh, and although we walked, you might want to take an Uber if it’s hot out!

Yas Bay

First up, the track! If you’ve been here for a while you know we’re F1 fans. We even have our movie tickets booked for the early release on June 25. Cool, eh?! The track in Abu Dhabi was the world championship deciding race in 2021 and it lives up to the hype.

While we didn’t see a race in Abu Dhabi – Mexico City Grand Prix was fun – we did check out the bay area. They have some very interesting art and these cook cats are, well, cool!

We found them all! Haha – what we didn’t find, however, was the art in the bay. Unfortunately, we missed the art since there was quite a bit of construction to make more land for development. We were looking forward to seeing the man in the bay.

On our visit we checked out a few patios, enjoyed people watching, and it took us a bit to find the last cool cat! While we were looking we found a huge purple car. When we visited the 2024 F1 race was only 2 weeks away, it was clear that the city was in ‘get ready’ mode.
