Travel: Mount Tyson
Mount Tyson – one of the most difficult hikes I’ve ever done. Not only was it a full 4 hours, we spent about 3 of those hours going up, and took us about an hour to get down. It’s a workout, that’s for sure! Mount Tyson The sign upon entry mentions that it’s difficult and you should be an experienced bushwalker. This is one of the first times my level of fitness matched the sign. Usually we walk or hike faster than the sign indicates,…

Travel: Mossman Gorge
The Mossman Gorge – it’s a part of the Daintree National Forest which is a rainforest. Okay, let’s check out some photos from out hike! Mossman Gorge First, we picked up our rental car after snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef and the first thing we did was head the 75 minutes north from Cairns to the rainforest. The drive is twisty and windy. So, it was an experience for our first time driving on the other side of the road – happy we made it…

Travel: Cairns Aquarium
The Cairns Aquarium is a great place to visit if you’re in Northern Queensland – and it’s well worth visiting after you snorkel the Great Barrier Reef to see some of the sights you saw up close. One thing I love about the Cairns Aquarium is its educational program – it works to build awareness and preserve the ecosystems in the area. Let’s check out some photos. Cairns Aquarium You’ll find the aquarium a few blocks from the reef terminal and just east of downtown.…

Travel: Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef is a must do if you’re in Queensland, Australia! We snorkelled with Passions of Paradise out of Cairns, Queensland. Check out the photos and video below! First, when you’re booking a tour to see the GBR (the Great Barrier Reef) be sure to do your homework! We wanted a tour where we would have some independence, would see more than one site, and a company that was eco friendly. Plus, we love that it’s locally owned and the boat wasn’t overly…
