Projects: January Intentions
January intentions!? Do you have any this month? For me, it’s reading more, getting back into yoga, and drinking more water (who doesn’t need more water?!). It’s been years and years since I’ve done an intentions post – the last time was in November 2017. I think I had yoga on there, too. Ah, now that I look at that post, all three of my intentions overlap with the past ones – that’s funny!
Why the reading? Well, I joined my local library back in August and I’ve read 8 books in full since then. That’s not too bad, about a book every 3 weeks. And, funny enough, that’s the typical checkout time for a book – 3 weeks.
January Intentions
Why water? I’m not sure about you, yet I often feel like I could drink more water.
As for yoga, it’ll help with stretching and I find it peaceful. Plus, I’ve already loaded up my YouTube account with some videos. With the TV set up in the basement and my mat premaritally rolled out, I’ve set myself up pretty week for this intention.
Okay, back to books. These are four I’m reading now – well, one at a time, of course.
The first is on Reese’s Book Club list in March 2020 and it’s good. It’s a quick easy read, and it’s enjoyable to see how the family members interact with each other. Charlotte is a hoot!
Peggy is by a Canadian novelists and is on CBC’s Best Canadian Fiction List of 2024. I’m looking forward to this one – hopefully this weekend!
How not to Drown in a Glass of Water is on New York Times 100 Notable Books of 2022 list.
And, Age of Vice is on Good Morning America’s book list, back in January 2023.
Out of all the books I’ve read in the last five months (I know, it’s only 8), Lessons in Chemistry is my favourite. I read it before I knew it was made into a mini-series on Apple TV. It’s witty, clever, and sad all at the same time.
Well, there you have it – my January intentions. I hope that you have a wonderful 2025 – cheers to you!
