Recipe: Canada Day Red Velvet Iced Cookies
Canada Day red velvet iced cookies – the perfect treat to celebrate July 1. These cookies are soft and chewy and the icing is well, the icing on top. Try them and start to celebrate.
Ingredients
- 1 box of white cake mix
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup of canola oil
- 1 tablespoon of red velvet flavouring or 1/2 teaspoon of red food gel
- a tub of vanilla icing
- 2 tablespoons of red sprinkles
First, gather all of your ingredients.
Next, mix the eggs and canola oil with the dry cake mix box. Once all of the ingredients are well combined, add in the food gel or the flavouring. Mix until the dough is a uniform colour.
Then, roll them into balls. Then flatten them and shape the edges so they look like big fat silver dollars.
Set the oven to 350 and bake for 9-12 minutes.
Let them cool on a rack for at least 15 minutes.
Ice and top with sprinkles.
Done!
Put out at a party, bring some to work for your amazing co-workers, or eat them all yourself. The batch will make about 20, so you’ll most likely have some to share.
Happy Canada Day and I hope you find a way to celebrate and show your pride for your country.
Oh, Canada…how I love you.
