Tofino Eats - some of the best local restaurants on Vancouver Island.

Tofino eats – here are some of the restaurants we ate at while in Tofino. From high end, to casual dining, all the food was fantastic! Alright – here are photos from our top three restaurants in Tofino.

Tofino Eats

Okay – up first, we ate at Shelter Restaurant – the food was good, yet out of the three listed, it’s out third favourite. Bryce had the pad thai, which was a dinner feature, and I had the sakamoto tuna tataki, oh, and we shared the truffle fries to start.

The tuna and rice cakes were my favourite – the sauce was bright and sweet, the perfect two bites.

Up next, was out second favourite, The Pointe Restaurant. This is where we went to celebrate my birthday. Dinner was delicious, and the atmosphere was divine. We had reservations at 7:45pm and finished up around 10:15pm – such a delightful evening.

I started out with the poached spot prawns and Bryce had the duck terrine. Then, for our main dishes, I had the dungeness crab and Bryce ordered the duck. Both were so good – although the crab did take a lot of work, but worth it!

The menu was amazing – and I even had a personal note for my birthday! And, our view was spectacular.

Dinner at The Pointe Restaurant was so enjoyable. The food was top notch, yet more so, the dining experience was the best one we’ve had in quite a long time.

Our last restaurant, and home to my favourite dish of the whole trip, is the Wolf in the Fog. This trendy, casual place had a long wait – so make sure you have reservations (we booked in at each restaurant weeks in advance).

My favourite dish of the whole trip is the tuna mexicano (I know, my love for Mexican food shines true) – it was so bright, the right amount of acid (perhaps pushed that boundary as far as possible) and the heat was spot on. We split the fried brussels spouts and Bryce ordered the feature which was a pesto pasta with braised lamb shank. The tuna mexicano is pictured below.
