Italian turkey! That’s right, this thanksgiving we’re having a 10 pound turkey that is seasoned with Italian spices and herbs. Looking for some added flavour this year? Then spice things up with some goodness.

Let’s get cooking!

Ingredients

  • 10 pound turkey
  • 2 tablespoons of Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons of shallot seasoning
  • salt to taste

First, gather your spices. I know I’ve mentioned it many times, yet these spices from the Spice Merchant are the best. Be sure to check them out if you haven’t already.

Next, prep the turkey. Set the oven to 350 on bake and get a dish ready. I line mine with parchment paper so it’s a little easier to clean up.

Season the turkey with a generous amount of salt. Then add 1 tablespoon of each seasoning to the top, the breast side.

Then flip and cook the turkey breast side down – this makes for juicer white meat. Once you flip it, season the other side with the rest of the seasoning.

Bake for 75-90 minutes or until the internal temperature is at least 165 degrees.

I don’t use any butter or oil at all – I find the convection oven works so well with a fully defrosted or fresh turkey, especially when cooked breast side down. This turkey looks so good!

Done!

Let the turkey rest for about 10 minutes before you flip it back to breast side up and slice.

Try not to pick off all the little sink bits, but they’re so good, right?!

Slice and serve. Doesn’t it look delicious?! These flavours go wonderfully well with the fall salad I made last week.
