Travel: Little Qualicum Falls
Little Qualicum Falls hike – it’s just outside of Victoria and a great place to hike, have a picnic, and stretch your legs. The rushing water is calming and the greenery is rich. Check out our photos below and hike up!
First, the map – there are many small trails along the falls, check out the one that interests you the most, or visit them all! We visited both the lower and upper falls. So awesome!
Little Qualicum Falls
The area is fenced, so bring your dog if you have one – the trail is safe and walkable for pups. Also, there’s camping on site, washrooms, and picnic tables if you’re spending the day. No park fee, which is nice. A lot of signs to keep you on the trail, yet if it’s been raining, be prepared for small muddy patches. Some of the greater elevations are boxed out stairs filled with earth, which can get quite messy.
Okay, onto the photos.
The teal water is simply beautiful.
That’s us! It doesn’t look too sunny, but it’s super-duper bright. See, the fence is there to keep you safe, so feel free to get close to the edge! Since we flew to Victoria from Edmonton, and then drove to Tofino, we didn’t have Daphne, our Afghan Hound, with us – she would have loved this hike!
Well, there you have it – one sweet hike just outside of Victoria. Little Qualicum Falls was a little highlight of our trip. We stopped on our drive back from Tofino to Victoria when we realized we’d have a longer wait than anticipated at the airport. So worth it.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you get out and about today to stretch your legs, hike up, and enjoy nature. Eat some snacks and I’ll see you again soon!
