Recipe: Canadian Thanksgiving 2023
Canadian Thanksgiving 2023 – this season we had one of my new favourite dessert! Carrot cake cheesecake bars. They’re delicious and taste like sweet Saturday afternoon – with nothing to do but enjoy life! Okay, let’s check out some the recipes for this upcoming holiday dinner.
Canadian Thanksgiving 2023
- Flat Roasted Chicken
- Caramelized Onion Mashed Potatoes
- Hearty Fall Salad
- Carrot Cake Cheesecake Bars
Do you have turkey every Thanksgiving? We don’t – it all depends on what we’ve got going on and if we’ll be around to eat all the leftovers! With the two of us (although Daphne would eat turkey every day if she could!) even a small 4kg bird can be a lot. This is why I opted for a roasted chicken this Thanksgiving.
Now, I don’t make a salad every holiday meal, but I usually do make either a salad or a vegetable and this time around the hearty fall salad was the go-to pick. It’s got toasted almonds, swiss cheese, and a bit of sweetness with red grapes.
A few years ago I learned that other than meat and potatoes, we usually only need one other dish – salad or vegetable, otherwise we don’t have room for dessert! And this year, you bet we saved room for carrot cake bars – check them out.
My Nana’s gravy dish is a treasure during our holiday meals – I love it!
Well, as long as you’ve got some potatoes for that gravy, you’re Thanksgiving will surely be a hit!
Side note, doesn’t it looks so good when all the dishes are white – letting the food colours show off?! I mix and match a few different styles, but having them all in white helps keep things cohesive. Just a little tip. Okay, back to the main event – dinner!
Feast on our Canadian Thanksgiving 2023 – we wish you a happy holiday and enjoy the family time, the food, and the memories. See you again soon!
