Travel: Perlan Wonders of Iceland
Perlan Wonders of Iceland is an awesome way to spend an afternoon, or a morning! It has interactive exhibits, shows, and is filled with so much scientific history about Iceland, it’s a pure wonderland. Check it out!
Okay, here are some of our photos, yet I was so enthralled with the museum that I didn’t take as many photos as I usually do. Photo time!
Perlan Wonders of Iceland
First up, the entrance. The dome is iconic and can be seen from downtown Reykjavik, too. When you’re done exploring all the wonders inside, be sure to head up to the gift shop and head outside for a view of the city, it’s beautiful.
Once inside, and when you check-in, be sure to get an understanding of when the shows are. You won’t want to miss them. We saw three shows, one on the northern lights, another on volcanos, and the last one was on a top secret show that we got to test! It has to do with taking a trip into the interior of the earth. So cool. Oh, and the ice caves – that was a neat exhibit, yet not overly fascinating since we experience a lot of snow and coldness here in Canada.
Check out this polar bear and the model of the glacier. Super neat.
The exhibit on the lava is fascinating – I had not idea that lava could be so pretty!
The northern lights – you can’t take photos during the show, but they do put some stunning shots up on the screen so you can take some before the show beings.
The dome! Be sure to check out the top floor.
Overall, we had an awesome time at the Perlan Wonders of Iceland. If you plan on visiting, be sure to check out their website and buy your tickets in advance, they’re cheaper online than buying in person, which is neat. Oh, and tickets to sell out, so plan ahead!
Happy travelling – see you again soon.
