Travel: Motel on Mitchell

The Motel on Mitchell – it’s a delightful place to stay if you’re in Townsville in Queensland, Australia. It’s in a great location, has an awesome host, and it’s cozy. We had a room with a king sized bed. It also had a little private entry with a couch, TV, and a mini-kitchen area. Okay, let’s check out some photos!

This little motel has 8 rooms and we had a smaller one – yet so much room for our three days in Townsville. If you want to check out the other types of rooms, visit the Motel on Mitchell site and take a peek.

The little area outside is a nice with a porch where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. Not much to look at, though, since all the cars park right in front, in true motel fashion. It’s nice to have an outside space, though.

The entry is great – that’s where the TV area and the kitchenette are – we turned the couch around so it was right in front of the TV, so much better! Then we just put it back before we left. The fridge is huge, full size which is a bonus. And the prep area is big enough for us to get some school work done while in Townsville. Plus, the door gives some privacy to the bedroom (where the air conditioning is) and makes for a nice and quite sleep.

The bed is comfy. Odd, though, that the sink is in the room. Well, that’s what I thought at first. Then I realized that the kitchenette doesn’t have a skink, so having it outside of the bathroom is perfect.

The closet space is large and the room is big so you have room to spread out and unpack properly.

Plus, the fan is so nice.

The bathroom is modern and has excellent fixtures – and the best toilet paper. Who gives a crap! Have you heard of it? It’s awesome.

I also like that the whole bathroom is the same tile and has a smooth transition from the shower to the rest of the bathroom. Nice light and bright space, for sure!
