Travel: Yas Mall
The Yas Mall! It’s a wildly wild place to be in the heart of the Yas District in Abu Dhabi. From a massive amusement park, to luxury goods, and some delicious food, we were cool and spent the morning here on one of our four days in this grand city. And by cool, I don’t mean like being seniors in high school, I mean we beat the heat! Okay, let’s check out some photos.
Yas Mall
First up, we took an Uber from our hotel, which is in the city centre, so it cost us about 30$ Canadian. Not too bad considering the drive. The mall is a piece of art in and of itself, with all the marble floors and the decor.
The one thing that’s interesting for me is that many, so many stores are the same across the world. And, with the internet, of course, it’s quite easy to get things from all over the place (we have some stunning art from Ukraine) without ever having visited that location.
We spent about 2 hours at the mall, which includes our time having lunch – food court! Having lunch in a food court, or a food hall like we did in Omaha or in Chicago is so awesome since we can eat different styles of food. Choices galore!
A big draw to the Yas Mall is the amusement park Ferrari World. If you’re an F1 fan, then you’ve probably seen the massive red Ferrari building during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix – some of the park is outside, yet to keep you cool, most is indoors.
We ventured to that part of the mall, yet didn’t head into the park – not our style.
Well, there you have it – the Yas Mall.
Be sure to check it out if you’re in the area – it’s a great place to people watch and grab a snack.
Thanks for stopping by and happy travelling!
