Project: Skirt to Clutch
Last year – well, about 15 months ago, when I was shopping in Los Angeles, I found this skirt. I really liked it – it fit well…yet in more than a year I never wore it. Not a big deal, it was 10$. Why not make something out of it, though! This quick project shows you how to go from a skirt to a clutch in less than an hour. Skirt to Clutch Want a full tutorial? Visit my clutch tutorial here. Project: Button Art
Buttons! I first fell in love with buttons when I was planning our wedding. Flowers really aren’t our thing – yes, they are beautiful, but they die very quickly. I was browsing though the Real Simple Wedding magazine back in 2010 and a button boutonniere caught my eye. Upon visiting the Etsy shop who made the delightful ornament, I realize that we would have button bouquets and boutonnieres. Our wedding colours were purple, black, white, and grey/silver. Thus…I had to buy a lot of buttons!…

Project: Arm Knitting
Arm Knitting – have you heard of it?! It’s amazingly easy and beautiful ta-boot! One of the girls I work with walked in one day with this stunning chunky scarf. “Wow…that’s a great scarf” I said. She made it…WHAT?! Arm knitting – I’m intrigued. While she was on her break I watched her pump out a scarf in less than 45 minutes. Seriously? Seriously! Her suggestion, to watch a YouTube video. Within days I had stopped at Michael’s craft store and browsed YouTube. Audra’s tutorial…

Project: Cuff Links
So – it’s about 5pm on a Saturday and my Christmas party starts at 5:30…and it’s a 15 minute drive. I’m ready…my husband is getting dressed. Cuff links? Where are they, I ask. The dry cleaner’s lost them. What!!?? He says it’s fine – he’ll just hide his cuffs in his jacket. I know Bryce well…after about an hour at the party he’ll be hot and want to take off his jacket, then realize that he needs his jacket to keep his cuffs in line.…

Project: Mason Jar Cookies
Mason Jar Cookies! What an awesome gift idea…they are quick, easy, and people love to receive them. Last year I made Country Chewy Cookies and they were a hit…but this year I decided to change up a few of the ingredients. My mason jars are from No Frills – super cheap (1L size). On sale for 7.97$ for 12. Good price, especially compared to last year when each Ball Mason Jar set me back 3.99$. 0.75$ or 3.99$…I think I’ll take the 75 cents!! What…

Holiday Napkins
Thanksgiving is this weekend – at least in Canada! What a better time to buy some fun fabric and decorate your holiday table. Yesterday I found a new discount fabric store in Edmonton – and it’s huge! Score!! That’s where I found this fun wild fowl print. Perfect for Thanksgiving! Holiday Napkins So – a good sized napkin measures around 20×20. I get 4 napkins out of one meter (if it measures 45 inches wide). Be sure you’ve washed your fabric first! Set your serger…
