Elk Island

What did you do this past long weekend? We went hiking in one of Canada’s National Parks. Fun, fun, fun!!

Our park ranger gave us a map and dog treats – what else do you need?!

Two hot and happy pups – they bark at birds – keeps things interesting.

No elk or bison sightings yet. Where are they?

There he his – he was hiding in the bush.

Whoo, so big. I’m nervous that they might charge us…don’t get too close!

The largest land mammal…the wood bison.

Happy to visit them in their fabulously large home! I will admit, though, sometimes a zoo is easier – it took us 3 hours to find them. I do realize animals are much better off in national parks, or the wild even – patience is key.
