Project: Coffee Table
Coffee table – who knew it would be so hard to find the perfect coffee table. Well, we searched for about 3 months, looked online, in stores, and even paused the TV when watching home shows on HGTV. Nothing. Everything was either too big or not our style. So, Bryce made it.
It’s made out of walnut and matches the mantal and other wood accents in the kitchen. Bryce made a template out of cardboard first and we decided on the size – the perfect little table for some dinner plates and a drink or two. Nothing overly large or dainty.
Glue up time! Feet on the table? Sure – we’re not too picky around here.
The tape line marks the outline of the table – time to put the hand planer to work.
And, here we are – the finished project, although it’s still in the shop, you can see that it’s beautiful. The legs are from a wholesaler in Ontario and Bryce did a great job insetting them into the top.
Now, let’s take a peek at the table in the living room! It looks right at home, eh?
Such a perfect little table – the right size and I love that it’s homemade. Well done, Bryce!
These legs are the best – since they are sturdy, yet aren’t clunky. We like that they allow a lot of light through and don’t make the table feel heavy. In the small little alcove of the couch, it’s important to keep things light and bright, yet also functional.
Well, it feels like it’s been a long week and it’s only Wednesday. Afterwork naps are the best. Time to hunker down and stay cozy. Look at these two – just all sprawled out enjoying the January downtime and the sun before it disappears at 4:37pm, haha!
Thanks for visiting and I’ll see you again soon. Until then stay warm with some coffee!
