Recipe: Mars Cookie Bar
Mars cookie bars – Mars bars are a Canadian classic – pick some up and bake up. They are such a delicious treat.
Ingredients
The bottom
- 1 1/2 cup of pretzels
- 1/2 cup of salted butter
- 1/4 cup of white sugar
- The filling
- 4 Mars bars
The cookie
- 3/4 cup of flour
- 1/4 cup of cake flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon of corn starch
- 1/4 cup of brown and white sugar
- 1/2 cup of salted butter
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tablespoon of vanilla
First – gather all of your ingredients.
Next – melt the first 1/2 cup of salted butter. Then, put the pretzels in your food processor and blend until corse. Add the pretzels to the 1/2 cup of melted butter and add in the first 1/4 cup of white sugar.
Now, time for the cookie. Cream the sugars, butter, egg, and vanilla. In a different bowl mix together all of the dry ingredients. Now, slowly add in the dry ingredients into the cookie mix. Mix well.
Take out a square 8×8 pan and line it with parchment paper. Push the pretzel crust into the bottom. Then, layer on 1/2 the cookie dough.
Time to cut the Mars bar. Cut each one in 4 lengthwise. Layer them on top of the cookie dough. Then, top with the remaining cookie dough. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-23 minutes.
Let them cool for about 1/2 an hour and then cut!
