Recipe: Passion Iced Tea

Passion iced tea – who said summer is almost over? Not here! Here it’s a bright and sunny day, the perfect day for some cold refreshing fruit tea. Let’s brew up a batch and enjoy the sun.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole lemon
  • 4 bags of passion tea
  • 16 oz of boiling water
  • 1 litre of filtered cold water

First, boil your water – I usually use filtered water to let the full flavour of the tea (or coffee, when I make it) come through. Remember a while back the ad with Mindy Kaling where she talked about the place that served the best coca-cola? Well, that place uses filtered water and it lets the coke stand for itself.

Once you’ve got your water boiled, add 16oz of it to a coffee cup or a container that can handle super-duper hot water that has the 4 passion tea bags set inside. Let the tea steep for about 6 minutes.

Below are some of my favourite coffee cups – none of them match, yet each one has a special place for tea or coffee (and sometimes NeoCitran).

Once the tea is steeped, take out the bags and pour the warmish liquid into a 1 litre + container. Then, fill with a litre of cold filtered water.

Thinly slice the lemon and add them in. Let it sit in the fridge for about 4 hours and then drink up. It’ll last for about 3 days, yet you’ll probably drink it all before then!

Well, there you have it, passion iced tea. One last little hint of summer before the leaves start changing colour, before you need to bring out the mittens, and before you need to start using your car starter. Fall is my favourite season, scarves, pumpkin pancakes and cool evenings – I can wait, though. Just a few more days of iced tea and I’ll be good.

Thanks for visiting and I’ll see you again soon.
