Sewing: Nursing Infinity Scarf
A nursing infinity scarf is a great gift for an expecting mom. If you’ve never made an infinity scarf before, you may want to visit the infinity scarf tutorial. The main difference in this sewing project is the size. So…grab some fabric and get ready to sew up!
What You Need
- 1-1.5 yards of 60 inch fabric
- matching thread
- machine
- needed
First – measure out your fabric. I decided to make two. One out of a light rayon and another out of a thicker cotton. They both give a different look when worn as a traditional infinity scarf. Be sure to pick your fabric accordingly.
You’ll want your fabric to measure 60 inches by 40-50 inches (depending on how big you want it – the black one is 40 and the brown one is 50).
With right sides together, stitch the long ends together – use your serger if you have one. Then, serge the ends and turn the scarf right side out. If you haven’d done this before, visit the infinity scarf tutorial.
Stitch the opening you used to turn it right side out.
Done – see how much it covers when you need it to?
Then, just wear it as a scarf…or as a hood.
Sew up!
See you again soon. More treats coming up this weekend.
