Sewing: Week Thirty Six: Two-Toned Cowl Neck Sweatshirt
Two-toned cowl neck sweatshirt is the same pattern as last week with a bit of a twist. This week we just add some colour and a bit more structure to the cowl neck. Let’s get started on this fall two-toned fashion piece.
What You Need
- 2 yardsof main fabric
- 1/2 yard of coordinating fabric
- serger
- pattern
- scissors
- pins
First, get your pattern ready and cut out – then, gather your pre-washed fabric. You’ll want to cut out the cuffs, bottom hem and the cowl neck in the coordinating fabric; however, you’ll also want to cut out the cowl neck from the main fabric (since this will act as the inside accent on the cowl neck).
Cut everything out and ensure you’ve got it all organized.
Serge the shoulders together, then add the sleeves. Serge, with one seam, the sleeves and the body together. Then, take the cowl neck pieces and place them wrong sides together. Serge around all 4 sides. Then, attach the cuffs, the bottom hem and the cowl neck (purple sides out) to the body of the sweatshirt.
Done – this two-toned cowl neck sweatshirt is just perfect lightweight, yet warm sweater for fall. I just love these purple colours!
Happy sewing and I hope you find this project as fun to make as I do.
