Travel: Icelandic Phallological Museum
The Icelandic Phallological Museum is one of the top things to do in Reykjavik – it might be odd for you, yet it’s scientific and quite interesting if you’re open minded. It’s about 40$ Canadian to visit and we spent about 75-90 minutes here. It’s downtown and right around the corner from the Harpa Concert Hall. Okay – let’s check out some photos! Icelandic Phallological Museum Ah, one quick thing to note, they do have a cafe and although we didn’t get anything here, we…

Travel: Harpa Concert Hall
Harpa Concert Hall is a must see in Reykjavik – even if you don’t see any performances (we didn’t!) the building itself is stunning. There’s an open area where you can walk around, enjoy the history of the building, and take in all the sites. From the architecture to the vibe, be sure to visit this memorable concert hall. Okay, photos! Harpa Concert Hall I will admit, there’s a lot of tourists in this area and a lot of people handing out tour pamphlets, yet…

Travel: Reykjavik Seawall Walk
Seawall walk in Reykjavik – if you’re in the capital of Iceland, then be sure you check out the walking path on the seawall. When we’re on vacation we walk a lot, like sometimes close to 30,000 steps. On our Toronto trip a couple of years ago, we did over 45,000 in 24 hours. Okay, the seawall – you can walk it from the harbour, or jet out if you’re in downtown. Not to worry about it being a walk out and back, since I…

Travel: House of Collections
The House of Collections is such a sweet and interesting gallery. If you’re in the downtown area of Reykjavik, then be sure to check it out. It was free with our admissions to the National Gallery of Iceland. One thing to note is that the facility has a lot of stairs – it’s not very accessible, so something to factor in for some folks. We followed the recommendation to start at the top and work our way down. I’ll admit, it was hard to walk…

Travel: National Museum of Iceland
The National Museum of Iceland is also worth checking out. It’s full of history, timelines, and all the background on how Iceland came to be – it’s fun! We visited after checking out the National Gallery of Iceland, and the walk took us about 15 minutes. We walked the long way so we could see city hall and walk by the Holavallagarour Cemetery. Again, we got the student rate – 1500 kr, or about $16.50 Canadian, and double that for adults. This museum doesn’t allow…

Travel: National Gallery of Iceland
The National Gallery of Iceland is an awesome place to spend a couple of hours. One reason we love visiting art galleries is because you get to experience the culture and landscape through the eyes of artists – seeing the area as they do. There’s something special about it, that’s for sure. The gallery is open from 10am – 5pm each day, and you’ll get a bonus entrance to the House of Collections, too. We’re both students, so we got in for 1200 kr, or…
