Travel: 2 Days in Hervey Bay

2 Days in Hervey Bay

2 days in Hervey Bay Australia – it’s a great little place to stop before you head to Fraser Island (that’s what’s up next!!). From the pier to the botanical gardens, and some good eats, we had a nice time in this little city. Okay, let’s check it out.

2 Days in Hervey Bay

First up, the hotel – we stayed at the pretty standard yet comfortable Beach Motel. The room was big and the air conditioning worked, which is most certainly needed in early December. It was clean and close to all the things we wanted to do. Check out our main floor room.

On our first day in Hervey Bay we made our way to the Botanical Gardens. The orchid room was closed, yet the rest of the space was breezy and shady, a nice break from the hot sun. Plus, we got to see a few new birds and some interesting plants.

It’s worth checking out the garden if you’re in the area. Bring some snacks, a cold drink, or even lunch and pop a squat on a blanket and enjoy being in nature.

Up next we visited the Urangan Pier. It’s so sun exposed, so be sure you have a hat or sunscreen. Okay, let’s check out the photos.

See the beach and sandbars? It’s a nice spot to swim, too. We saw a few dogs in the water staying cool (like a in not over heating, although I’m sure they’re awesomely popular dogs! haha).

Quite a few people fish off the pier and we did see some fish, just didn’t see anyone catching them.

Lastly, you’ll need to eat! We had a good meal at Tasty Thai. It wasn’t anywhere as good as the place in Mission Reef, yet it was still good.
