Dubai Fountain

The Dubai Fountain – it’s magical and a spectacle worth checking out. If you’re in the Dubai Mall area, visiting the Burj Khalifa, or the Dubai Aquarium, then time your visit and watch this water show! There aren’t any seats or tickets (well, I think you can pay and have a spot on a bridge), yet do ensure you arrive early-ish to get a good view. The walkway will fill up fast. We stood behind an older couple that was short, so we go some good shots. Let’s check out some photos.

First, check out the grounds – this punched heart is quite cool.

And the view of the Burj Khalifa building is wild from the fountain walkway. It’s massively tall – the tallest!

Okay, once the sun sets the show will begin!

Show time – the fountain plays to music, which is awesome. The only thing that would have made it better is if we knew the song. There’s an association or memory evoked when you recall a song and that most certainly adds to the experience. Okay, fountain time.

Well, there you have it – the Dubai Fountain and all it’s glory. Hey – in the photo above you can see all the people around the edge and get a sense of how packed it is – wild, eh? This size of crowd most certainly comes with challenges – people holding spots, cutting in front of you, and others who stand wide legged right at the rail.

For us, we find it so interesting to watch people navigate these exchanges. I took photos for about 5% of the show, watched the show for about 50% of the time, and then watched people react the other 45% of the time. Some people hardly watched the water, they just watched their phone, took selfies, and got in other people’s way. It’s interesting that in all of our travels, these human experiences are quite consistent. All in all, though, it was a lot of fun!

Okay, happy travelling and enjoy all the sights and wonders out there – it’s fun to explore.
