Eats in Hoi An Vietnam – the places to eat and what to order! Being a Celiac it’s a bit harder to travel and find safe food. In Hoi An, I fell in love with two places that are so amazing at helping; and, the food is awesome!

Minh Hien

This place is vegetarian, yet so good. Seriously.

Order the banana leaf or the special.

We ate there twice on our trip. And, we even rode our bikes for 15 minutes in the rain to eat at this place. Worth it.

One thing that’s fun about Minh Hien’s is that their tables are decorated with traveler’s notes. We had a lot of fun reading them.

Dingo Deli

Looking for classic Western food? This place has it!

Since Hoi An was at the end of our 23 day trip we were in the mood for some eggs, sandwiches and even nachos. This place delivered!

My favourite thing is that they have so many gluten free options. Their bread isn’t so great, yet the nachos are awesome. Even with guacamole. You can sit inside or outside and play cards all day long. We played cards a few afternoons and it was so fun and relaxing.

That’s me, waiting impatiently for my food – then devouring it. I was so hungry.

Overall, we had a great experience in Hoi An and the food had a lot to do with it. Pho? Check. Nachos? Check. Spicy rice? Yes, check! The one thing I didn’t eat was a Banh Mi, since I’m a Celiac; yet Old Town is full of a few favourited shops which serve up a delicious and authentic Banh Mi.

When you’re travelling there are a few things which can work in or against you: weather, food, language and accommodations. I can handle about 2 of those being difficult, let’s say extremely hot weather and a strong language barrier must be coupled with great food and a beautiful hotel. Life is about balance and it’s important to know what you can handle. For me, I love good food and I can handle good eats. Check out these eats in Hoi An Vietnam.
