Travel: Education City
Education City – a little city inside a city, it’s a campus in Doha, Qatar. With botanical gardens, a FIFA soccer stadium, and museums, it’s a place full of life, culture, and experiences. Oh, and they have an epic library! Below I’ll share a few links to posts that are within Education City, and also share a few other tips and tricks for your trip. Okay, let’s check things out.
Education City
- Qur’anic Botanic Garden
- Qatar National Library
- Qatar National Convention Centre
- Mathaf – Arab Museum of Modern Art
- Multaqa – Multipurpose Student Centre
- Education City Tram
- Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies Building
The city is home to various university campus, such as Carnegie Mellon, Georgetown, Northwestern, and Texas A&M. It’s a coming together to create a vibrant educational ecosystem for students, academics, and professors.
The Multaqa is where we had lunch, as it’s the hub of the city and a place for students and others to connect and engage.
While in the city we also visited the Qatar National Library and rode the tram a couple of times.
Even if you don’t have a reason to ride the tram (although you should check out the Mathaf – Arab Museum of Modern Art), taking a ride will give you an overview of the campus, which is so cool in and of itself.
Here you can see all the major highlights on campus.
Neat, eh?!
Well, there you have it, Qatar’s Education City, a hub for academics, art, and beauty. From exploring the library, to a stroll in the botanic garden, you’ll easily spend a day at Education City. You can have lunch at the Multaqa or at Joe and the Juice if you visit the Mathaf – plan your day and maximize it to your needs. If we had more time, I would have enjoyed checking out the various university buildings, yet the one I really wanted to see – the Minaretein – was amazing. Check it out if you’re in the area, it was a highlight of our trip!
See you again soon.
