Travel: Louvre Abu Dhabi
The Louvre Abu Dhabi is an art lovers dream! From Van Gogh to Monet, it’s full of some of my favourite impressionist artists. The building is a piece of art in and of itself. If you’re into art, then be sure to check it out. We had lunch on the Mamsha Beach and walked the 20 minutes or so to the museum. Okay, let’s check out some photos.
Louvre Abu Dhabi
First up, you can bring a bag with you that has snacks and water, the guest services team will give you a coat check type bag drop, since you’re not allowed to bring it in. It was pretty handy, and I’m happy they didn’t simply make me toss my water.
Next, know that the order in which you navigate through the galleries will impact the gradual evolution of the art. We did all in order, and as such, it was a little busy at the beginning. Once we got to the seventh or eighth gallery we didn’t feel crowded at all, it was perfect.
See what I mean about the building being a piece of art?!
And a little nod to the Paris location!
Below we’ve got some galleries with sculptures and porcelains.
And some Renaissance art.
Now, for the impressionists – these tiny visible stokes that give the paintings so much life – I love it.
We spent the most time in the impressionist and Van Gogh galleries. I wanted to see everything.
If you do visit, don’t forget to venture outside into the courtyard, there’s another gallery in the middle and some pieces outside, too.
What’s your favourite art? Are you a painting or a sculpture person? Modern or classical? What about the theatre or concerts – there are art too!
Well, there you have it – our little trip to the Louvre Abu Dhabi. Thanks so much for stopping by and happy sightseeing!
