Travel: Marjorie K Daugherty Conservatory
Marjorie K Daugherty Conservatory is one of Omaha’s top attractions. It’s full of so many beautiful plants and a cozy cafe. Plus, it just flat out smells awesome. Okay, let’s check out some photos.
One of my favourite things about visiting conservatories (we have an awesome one in Edmonton!) is seeing the grown up version of the plants we have at home. An elephant’s foot is a great example – we have 3 and they’re oh, so tiny.

Photo time! This fountain sounds peaceful – just the sound of water is calming, don’t you find?
The photo above is a plant tree. It reminds me of a Christmas tree, yet each little nook has a different plant, it’s so neat. I didn’t get a photo of the full tree – well, not one worth sharing. I’m not sure who has a place in their home for something like this, but if you do, get one!
Don’t you just love plants? I wasn’t a huge plant person growing up, or as a young adult, yet moving into our south facing home, with large front windows, the home called for plants. Now, with more than 25 of them in the house (it doesn’t feel like that many) the home feels at peace. We have a ficus that we got when we moved to Edmonton back in 2009, Bryce got it at Home Depot for probably 6$ or something – now it’s a full grown tree – about 7 feet! Plants are awesome.
Well, there you have it, the Marjorie K Daugherty Conservatory. Check it out – or any conservatory if you’re around one – you’ll be happy you did. Oh, and snag a plant at Home Depot if you’ve got a sunny spot for it. Watching a plant grow (over time, that is) is such a cool thing.
Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you again soon.
