Travel: Moss Restaurant
Moss restaurant is a Michelin starred dining experience that offers some of the most delicate, naturally inspired food we’ve had. The service was top-notch and the view was worth it alone! Plus, the company, right?! So good.
For Moss, they offer a seven course menu that takes you on a journey through Iceland’s landscape. From mountains to rivers and then to the sea – all from a very fresh perspective. As most of you probably know, I’m gluten free and only eat seafood and poultry, so I went with the vegan menu as they could made accommodations to that menu. Bryce joined me and out of the seven courses, there was only one we found to be a little lacklustre. From punchy flavours to fun textures, Moss is worth a visit.
Moss Restaurant
Up first, we were welcomed with an arrangement of fish skin and an earthy hummus, followed by an amuseboosh, topped off with delicate olive oils and bread.
Above, the olive oil and bread came with black lava salt. So good – and I love, love salt!
Up next we had a fresh gazpacho with iced herbs and balanced almonds.
Next we had a fresh zucchini and pea salad. This one packed a punch of flavour and look at that colour!
After these first two dishes we moved into a more earthy place with beets.
And, along the same lines as the beets, here we have eggplant on cauliflower.
This next dish is considered the main and was subtle on the flavours – this is the one Bryce and I thought was a little lacklustre, as it seemed to dip down in boldness from the progression of the menu. Having said that, it was still fantastic!
The last two dishes were dessert – one lava cake and other treats on moss. So fun!
One of the best parts of our dinner was the view and the atmosphere. Photos can’t really capture the essence of Moss, yet here are a few photos to give you an idea.
Overall, we had an awesome day at the Blue Lagoon and finishing the day at Moss was a highlight, for sure.
Thanks for stopping by and happy travelling!
See you again soon – bye for now.
