Travel: Qatar National Library
The Qatar National Library – have you ever visited a place for their library?! Well, you should check out Doha for the library. It’s amazing. With a history display on the ground floor, and a FIFA exhibit on the second floor, it’s like a library built around a museum. The architecture, the light, and the feel makes this place worth checking out. Okay, photos!
Qatar National Library
First up, I love libraries.
Perhaps it goes back to childhood when we had a class field trip to the public library in my home town. It’s right on the water and full of natural light. In university I worked at our campus’s main library and my study nook was at the law library – desks inset in walls and walls of books. Flat out, awesome. The Qatar National Library is worth checking out. See for yourself below!
On the ground floor there’s a special tribute to all the history, from maps to plaques, it’s full of stories before our time.
The main floor is the heart of the library – full of stacks and stacks of books, along with glass walkways that make you feel like you’re floating among the words.
The main floor also has a few interactive pieces, below Bryce is putting his art skills to use!
On the second floor there’s a FIFA exhibit, as Doha, Qatar hosted the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
That’s that, the Qatar National Library. Check it out, spend some time on campus, grab a coffee, a snack, and check it out. It’s free and we spent about 45-55 minutes here. It’s a nice way to cool off, fill your water bottle, and take in some culture.
Plus, the two exhibits are really worth seeing.
Look how happy we look – two nerds enjoying their vacation in the Middle East!
Happy travelling!
