Travel: Quintonil
Quintonil is one of the worlds best restaurants. In fact, according to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, Quintonil is number 9. Jorge Vallejo on the pass is exceptional, a one of a kind chef and well worth the visit. Okay, I won’t talk a lot in this post, but rather let the photos speak for themselves. A few more words and then into the experience!
Quintonil
First, we ate at the kitchen bar and had the tasting menu – the full 3.5 hour sitting. It was one of the most entertaining and delicious experiences of my life. Both Bryce and I have worked in restaurants so we find the movements of the kitchen captivating, but more so, the finesse that when into each plate is wild!
We arrived and I did my hair outside (fluffed it and then put in a half top-knot) before entering the small, seemingly insignificant restaurant. After being welcomed we made our way to two of six seats overseeing the kitchen. A front row seat to the pass!
As a Celiac and someone who doesn’t eat red meat, they were more than accommodating, so fret not if you have dietary restrictions. We were presented with the menu so we knew what courses would be next and after we ordered our drinks, the 11 course meal began! I had about 4 substitutions, so we actually had 15 different dishes. Wild. Okay, way more than a few words, yet onward to photos!
Well, there you go – Quintonil in Mexico City! If you’re a fan of food, give a tasting menu a try and visit one of the worlds top 50 restaurants. So worth it!
Thanks for visiting – the reservation was difficult to get, so if you’re a fan of food and want to visit London, Paris, Mexico City or any other fabulous food destination, book your dinner reservations and then your flights! Happy travelling.
