Travel: Shedd Aquarium Chicago
The Shedd Aquarium is awesome. A sure ‘to-do’ if you’re visiting the Chicago area. From live shows with rescued animals, all the way to 3D educational movies, this place will keep you busy!
Shedd Aquarium Chicago
The aquarium is located on Museum Campus (along with the Field Museum and the Adler Planetarium) and just north of Soldier Field.
We got the City Pass for Chicago and took total advantage of all the savings (we saved over $300 total for the two of us getting these passes).
Be sure to show up early so you can get seating for the live show (3 families were asked to leave because they didn’t have their free advanced tickets) and your 3D movie – they fill up fast.
The live show is worth it – they have these blinds that move up and down showing the view of lake Michigan – it’s beautiful. Plus, the blind sea lion is such a character – too cute.
Look at this little guy? He’s such a square. Haha.
The coral is beautiful. With three floors and more exhibits than I could name, these photos shows a very, very small portion of our visit. Bryce loves this stuff and it’s so fun to watch him say ‘do you know what this is?!’. Pure joy.
Also, the street art is beautiful around Museum Campus. Be sure to give yourself some extra time to explore the grounds, take photos, and experience all the glorious views.
Well, there you have it – a little insight into our adventure at the Shedd Aquarium. Do visit if you’re ever in Chicago. See you soon!
