Travel: Hopper Experience
Our hopper experience – using the hooper travel app – was awesome. Set to travel to Mexico in February (we just got back on Monday) I signed up for the app in about June of 2018. The app functions around predictions, yet from all of the things I’ve read, it’s not a guarantee you’ll get the lowest price. Buying flights anytime or anywhere is never a guarantee that you’ll get the lowest fare, though. Step One Sign up for hopper. It’s only a mobile app,…

Travel: Tulum Snapshot
About 3 weeks ago I saw an article and the headline read ‘Tulum is so 2018.’ It talked about new and exciting places to visit. Well, let me tell you, this quaint Mexican town is still a beautiful and exciting place to visit. Not too sure I’d spend a whole week here, but it’s worth the stop if you’re close. Check out this Tulum snapshot. Riding bikes, visiting the ruins, or eating authentic Mexican food is what Tulum is about. Oh, and smelling the warm…

Recipe: Green Sauce
Green sauce time! We’re in Mexico on vacation, as I’m sure you can tell from my Akumal Snapshot. The best part is all the food. It’s fresh, delicious, and full of so much flavour – we love Mexican food. This green sauce is something I made as a quick appetizer on the fly, no recipe. We liked it so much I recreated it (as best I could) and jotted down all the ingredients. Let’s get to it! Ingredients bottle of Herdez Guacamole Salsa 2 large…

Travel: Akumal Snapshot
Here is a little Akumal snapshot – we’re staying about 100km south of Cancun in Quintana Roo, Mexico. The town is small, yet has a lot of personality. This is technically the second time we’ve been to Mexico, yet I might say the first time we’ve vacationed here. Our other trip was a day stop in Tijuana back in 2014. Oh, and if you were curious, we’ve done pretty well by just packing for Mexico in a carry on. It’s been great! My favourite thing…

Ingredeints potato splash of milk 4 corn tortillas 2 tablespoons of mayo 1/2 cup of crumbled feta cheese cabbage slaw pulled chicken diced tomatoes hot sauce First up – the humble potato. Wash and peel the potato. Dice it up small and boil it. Once…

Travel: Mexico in a Carry On
We’re travelling to Mexico and we love to travel light. Not only does it make the travel days easier, yet it also makes prepping for the trip and the trip itself smoother. So, here we go – Mexico in a carry on. I’m not about sacrificing style, yet about maximizing pieces and being comfortable and stylish. Too many options, for me anyway, causes anxiety about ‘don’t wear that yet’ – fear of wasting an awesome outfit on a boring day – it’s silly, I know.…

Recipe: Jalapeño Cream Corn
Gluten free jalapeño cream corn – it’s the perfect spicy side dish for a Sunday night dinner. It’s rich, creamy and full of some heat. Let’s cook up. Ingredients 8oz of cream cheese 1/4 cup of butter 2 cans of corn 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese 3 garlic cloves, chopped 1/3 cup of milk 2 teaspoons of chili powder 3 jalapeños First, as usual, gather all of your ingredients! Then, fire roast the 3 jalapeños until they’re dark and charred. Peel the burnt skin…
