Photos: Dogs of Instagram
Dogs of Instagram – who doesn’t love following sweet fur pups? Well, since this past Saturday was National Puppy Day, I thought I’d share a few of my favourites. Following these four paw friends is so fun – they brighten my day for sure. It’s been almost a year since we’ve been without a pup in the house, so this is my way to stay connected to the cuteness and all the fuzzy feels. It can be sad without a pup since I sometimes wonder…

Photos: Saying Goodbye to Lily
Saying Goodbye to Lily Saying goodbye is painful, especially when you know it’s the end. We said goodbye to our best friend with four adorable paws on Sunday night. It was not easy to say goodbye and it still hurts deeply. Lily, or Lily-cat as I often called her, had an exceptional life; and with having her in our lives came some of my most cherished memories. She loved to play, eat ice cream, and go for car rides. More than that, though, she loved…

Photos: Lily’s 9th Birthday
It’s Lily’s 9th Birthday! Well, it was on January 18, 2018. She’s a Great Dane who is full of spunk and excited to turn 9. If you follow me on Instagram you’ve probably already seen these, yet they’re too good not to share here, too. Let’s check out the past year for Lily! I remember back in June, when we were in Glacier National Park in Montana with Lily, a lady came up to us and just started hugging Lily. Her Great Dane was at…

Photos: Festival of Trees
The Festival of Trees in Edmonton is a huge University Hospital event. They raise more than one million dollars each year and the trees are beautiful. This year they raised enough money to drastically help the Rapid Transfer Unit at the University of Alberta Hospital. Basically, the Festival of Trees is a total bonus for making a small donation to a worthy cause. Okay – let’s check out some of the trees! Festival of Trees This one below is my favourite. Such a plaid little…

Photos: Blue Jays
My oh my – we have 5 blue jays at our house! Blue Jays This past July we celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary and Bryce’s parents got us a bird feeder, not only is it beautiful, it’s made of cedar. Well, we finally got it up in late August when we purchased some standard bird feed. It was a mix of black, white and brown seeds. The little finches we see around love the black seeds, yet toss the white ones to the ground. Recently,…

Photos: Thankful
It’s Thanksgiving weekend and the leaves are blowing around the front yard and I’m thankful for so many things: my lovely little family, the strong connections I share with the amazing people in my life, a wonderful job and blogging. I’m so grateful to have a space where I can share my love for life. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t always love life – sometimes it is unfair, illogical, and dark; yet blogging, for me, moves me past that into the light. And, the…

Photos: Thunder Snoring House
Thunder and snoring house – yes, my house is filled with so many sounds that it’s flat out beautiful. This morning the house is full of snoring. Bryce is on nights and Lily, well, she’s a Great Dane and she’ll snore anytime if you let her. The thunder, that comes from all of the rain and storms we’ve had over the last month or two. Oh, and there’s a precious story to go along with it. Thunder We were living in Dallas, Texas and Lily…
