Travel: Adler Planetarium Chicago
This place is awesome. Flat out one of the best places I’ve ever been. If you’re in Chicago then check out the Adler Planetarium – and plan to spend about 3-4 hours here – you’ll want to see all the shows you can! Adler Planetarium Chicago You can’t go to a planetarium and not talk about Pluto, right? We will for sure miss you. My Magic School Bus ruler still has you listed, though. You can’t turn back time. This display is so fun. You…

Travel: Art Institute of Chicago
The Art Institute of Chicago is beautiful. From Monet to Warhol, it’s stunning. They are open daily from 10:30am – 5:00pm, and until 8:00pm on Thursday. First, I can promise you if you’re even slightly more of an art fan than I am, you won’t have enough time in this place. And, as art fans go, I’m about a 6/10. Really. There was a point where we had to burn though spaces, like powerwalking, that way I had time to spend on the pieces I…

Travel: Shedd Aquarium Chicago
The Shedd Aquarium is awesome. A sure ‘to-do’ if you’re visiting the Chicago area. From live shows with rescued animals, all the way to 3D educational movies, this place will keep you busy! Shedd Aquarium Chicago The aquarium is located on Museum Campus (along with the Field Museum and the Adler Planetarium) and just north of Soldier Field. Travel: Prince Albert National Park
Prince Albert National Park because it’s time for camping! Yes, Waskesiu in Saskatchewan is beautiful. It’s a little far from us, being about 7 hours towing, yet worth the visit. We took Tipsy, our 1972 Boler, on this trip. Okay, let’s get camping. Prince Albert National Park We set up camp in no time. Takes us about 20-30 minutes total from the time we find our site until we’re set up and ready to relax. Last year we got the 10×10 canopy tent since we…

Travel: Chicago Lunch Eats
Chicago lunch eats – some of these places are just so good. All offer gluten free options and one place, the whole menu is GF. Total Score! Just like Chicago breakfast eats, we had a quick lunch sometimes. It’s better to balance out than to eat too much. Having said that, we do love trying new spots! Chicago Lunch Eats First up, Barrio in River North. This place had such a great menu. Bryce got the crispy chicken sandwich – the best he’s had, he…

Travel: Chicago Street Art
Chicago street art – it’s the best. Sure, fabulous museums house incredible art, however, some of the best art in Chicago can be seen right on the streets. The best spot? Wabash Arts Corridor. Full of beauty. Okay, let’s get started! The Loop First up, The Picasso. I bet you didn’t know that Picasso did sculpture, right? Maybe you did, since you’re a smartie! This piece is 50 feet tall and catches the sun beautifully. What do you think it looks like? To me, I…

Travel: Chicago L Train
The Chicago L train, or usually just the ‘L’ is the best way to get around Chicago. We flew into Chicago O’Hare and stayed in River North. I think all in all we used the ‘L’ 38 times. Yes, on and off 38 times in 5 days. Now, I’ll admit the Ventra card is a little challenging to figure out. Not to mention, the machines are such a hassle, yet if you’re patient and don’t get frustrated, you’ll be good. I’ll share a few tips…
