Recipe: Oreo Poke Cake
Poke Cake? Sure…why not?! What about Oreo poke cake? Ah, yes – even better. Let’s get ready to bake up.
This is a simple recipe for an easy dessert when you need to bring something tasty to a party, or to work for those people who often save you butt!
What is poke cake? You poke holes in the cake and pour pudding over top – then the pudding sets in the holes and creates total yumminess!
Ingredients
- devil’s food cake box (and ingredients to make)
- cookies ‘n cream pudding box (and ingredients to make)
- 8 chopped oreo cookies (I used the Berry Blast ice cream flavour)
First – make you cake and bake up.
Next – once it’s set for about 20 minutes – take a wooden spoon and poke it full of holes…lots of them!
Chop your Oreo cookies – look, one was put on backwards!
Now, make the pudding and quickly, before the pudding sets, pour over the cake.
I made the mistake of waiting too long, so on this cake the pudding didn’t run down into the holes as nicely as I would have liked. Bummer…still tastes great, though!
Add the chopped Oreo cookies and let it set in the fridge for about an hour.
Done!
Happy Poke Cake making!
