Recipe: Baked S’more

Baked S'mores: 3ten.ca #smore #summertreat

S’mores! Yes, it’s summer and s’mores are the best. The only issue is we don’t always have a campfire ready to go, do we? This baked s’more summer treat is easily made in the oven and is great for picnics or to make before you go camping. Try it out!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of honey graham cereal and marshmallows
  • 3 cups of chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 cup of butter (I used salted)

Gather all of your ingredients.

Why Honey Graham Bliss

For this recipe I used Honey Graham Bliss by Sally’s Cereals – why? The main reason is because I got twice as much as a box of Golden Grahams, but it turns out that the Honey Graham Bliss is lightly coated in brown sugar (and no more caloric than Golden Grahams)…plus, they hold up better when baked. Thus, if you have the choice, grab Honey Graham Bliss, it’s good!

Also – measure out all of your ingredients.

Notice I don’t have mini marshmallows? Use them if you have them. I only had the campfire roasting size, so I cut mine up (each mallow into 6) and it worked well.

Okay – mix the first 3 ingredients together in a 9×13 pan. Stir well so everything is mixed. Now add the brown sugar and mix again. Melt the butter and pour over the whole mixture. Set the oven to 350 degrees and bake for 15-18 minutes. The marshmallows will get toasty.

Once it’s done, pull it out of the oven and let it cool on a rack for about 30 minutes. Then, cover it with plastic wrap and put it in the fridge for at least 2-3 hours before you try and cut it. Take it out and cut away. Almost time to try it.

Done!

Once they are cooled, cut and eat away!

If you’re packing them up to take to a BBQ or camping, be sure you separate them with parchment paper and that you keep them cool – that way they stay set and together (although falling apart is sometimes fun, too).

Happy S’more making! Check out our other s’more recipes – S’more Cookies and S’more Layer Pie – both are good too…but these Baked S’mores are my favourite out of the three.

Enjoy the weekend and see you again soon.
