Ramen cabbage salad – who would have thought? Well, Jamie cooks it up did, and that’s where this recipe is adapted from. Try it!
Ingredients
- 2-3 heads of savoy cabbage
- 1 bunch of green onions
- 3 packages of ramen noodles
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 1/3 cup of sliced almonds and sesame seeds
Dressing
- 3/4 cup of peanut oil
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/4 cup of rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons of dark soy sauce
First – gather all of you ingredients.
Grab a big pan and begin melting the butter. Open the 3 packages of ramen and put in a bag (toss out the seasoning packet). Smash the bag until the ramen is in pieces.
Toss in the almonds and sesame seeds and stir in the butter mixture for about 2 minutes. Then, add in the ramen pieces. Keep stirring often. You’re looking to brown the mixture.
While keeping an eye on the nuts and ramen, cut the washed cabbage into thin pieces. Then, cut slice the green onions into 1/2 inch pieces.
Once the ramen mixture is toasty and brown, set aside to cool.
Time to work on the dressing. Put all the ingredients into a pan, mix well. Bring to a boil and let it roll for about one minute. Set aside to cool.
Mix the cabbage and green onions together. Then, add in the cooled ramen mixture. Top with the cooled dressing. Mix well.
