Recipe: Roasted Cheesy Green Beans
Roasted cheesy green beans are a colourful side dish for any holiday meal. It’s a bit of a play off of the parmesan asparagus recipe I made a while back, yet this recipe uses grana padano for added flavour and saltiness. Okay, let’s get cooking!
Ingredients
- 400g of green beans
- 3 tablespoons of grape seed oil
- 1 tablespoon of garlic
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup of shredded grana padano
First, wash the green beans. I love this little bag – they’ve bean picked for me! Ha-ha, so cute. I love great marketing. Plus, these are washed, trimmed and ready to go! Total score.
Anyone else find it hard to find green beans around the holiday? Hence me making this recipe in the middle of February!
Next, set the oven to 425 and get out a sheet pan. Lay down a silicone mat and then organize the beans in one layer. Drizzle on the grape seed oil, then top with the minced garlic and salt and pepper.
Roast in your oven for 10-15 minutes. While it’s roasting, shred the cheese. I like using quality cheeses since it added more flavour and depth. If you don’t have grana padano then you can substitute for parmesan, yet use the block of cheese not the Kraft kind.
Once the 10-15 minutes is up, take the sheet pan out and then top with the cheese.
Change the setting to broil on your oven and broil for 3-4 minutes until the cheese starts to brown a touch.
Done! The perfect side dish for flat roasted chicken. Plate carefully and I like choosing a long white dish to really make the green beans pop.
Well, there you have it – roasted cheesy green beans. Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you again soon. Up next I have some sweet eats just in time for Valentine’s day – who else is ready for a few treats?! Me!
