Recipe: Treat Bark
Treat bark! About a week ago we did a holiday treat bark which was just as tasty. This version is a bit different, using both milk chocolate and white chocolate for some added sweetness. Plus, in this version, we all the toppings to the top, we don’t cover them in chocolate.
Ingredients
- milk chocolate chips, 1 bag
- white chocolate chips, 1 bag
- 6-8 Oreo cookies
- m&ms, 1 cup
- pretzels, 1 cup
- mixed nuts (I used almonds, sesame seeds and pecans), 1 cup
First – gather all of you ingredients.
Step one – melt your chocolate chips. I put each bag in its own bowl and microwaved them at 50% for 3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds. Pour out onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover with crushed Oreo cookies and pretzels.
Now top with the rest of the stuff. Press it in well.
Let cool and set in the fridge for about 3 hours. Then, cut it up and eat it!
Done.
Pack up in mason jars as little gifts or just put them in your pantry for movie night…if they last that long.
After trying both methods – goodies down first, chocolate on top versus chocolate down first and goodies on top – I found that both have their benefits. The first holds together more, yet doesn’t looks as packed with treats. The second method, used in this recipe, is a bit messier, yet it looks so full of goodness! Overall, both taste great, so that’s a win-win for sure.
Enjoy the treats – and enjoy your weekend.
