    Travel: Hotel Emporio Mexico City

The Hotel Emporio Mexico City is in the Juárez neighbourhood, full of the city’s hustle and bustle. City centre is walking distance, the rates are fair, and the staff are friendly. Overall, a good place to stay in Mexico City! When we visited Mexico City in late October, early November the main attraction was the Mexico City Grand Prix. During race weekend (Thursday – Monday) we stayed at the Hyatt Regency Mexico City. That hotel is way, way nicer than this one. Yet the Hotel…

    Travel: Qbic Hotel

The Qbic Hotel in London is a sweet little place that’s reasonably priced and close to the tube. They market themselves as a eco-sustainable hotel, which is important in this day and age. Check out their site for more info. Qbic Hotel In the lobby you’ll notice a huge open space – they have a restaurant and bar. We found it over priced for the quality of the food, so we never ate there. Yet, I love the lobby bathroom – such creativity in design.…

    Travel: Freehand Hotel Chicago

Where to stay in Chicago? You can’t beat the location of the Freehand Hotel Chicago. Seriously, it’s right in River North, about 2 blocks from Michigan Avenue and half a block from the L train. It’s an adorable place to stay, yet it’s not without some faults. I’ll share below! Freehand Hotel Chicago They are a small hipsteresque hotel chain with locations in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami. Their location in Chicago looks awesome. Don’t be fooled, though – you probably wont’ get a…

    Travel: Time Square Suites Vancouver

I flat out love Vancouver. This wonderful city, however, is a tad pricy and finding a beautiful place to stay at a reasonable rate was a little challenging. Time Square Suites Vancouver is the place to stay. Check it out – they are close to Stanley Park and Whole Foods is just a couple of blocks away. Plus, parking is included for a small fee. Okay, let’s check out some photos. Time Square Suites Each suite comes with a full kitchen. It’s awesome. When we’re…

Travel: Hello House Ho Chi Minh City

Hello House The Hello House Ho Chi Minh City is a delightful little place in the central backpacker district. Also, it’s quite inexpensive. This room cost us 87$ for 3 nights – that’s 27$ a night?! Plus, it comes with quality wifi, air conditioning and breakfast. Total score. This little welcome sign is there to greet you when you arrive. Oh, and there’s a locker (you get a key) for you to lock up your shoes. This adorable little bed – and you can see…

    Travel: Hima Boutique Siem Reap

Hima Boutique Siem Reap is a delightful hotel with welcoming staff and a cooling pool. It’s fairly inexpensive – we paid about $29.00 Canadian per night and stayed 3 nights. Oh, and free breakfast, which is awesome. Fried rice with a sunny side up egg is a great way to start the day. If only I could make fried rice like that. Location The Hima Boutique is located on Taphul Street and is outside of the hustle and bustle of Pub Street or the ‘downtown’…

    Travel: Adamaz House Bangkok

Adamaz House Bangkok Adamaz House in Bangkok is a sweet little boutique hotel that’s down a dingy alley. I’ve said this before in my post about three days in Bangkok, yet I’ll say it again – so happy I book accommodations in advance. I trust reviews and I trust other bloggers. The process of finding a hotel before you travel is easy – know where you want to stay (usually close to sights and the common back-packer area), read reviews, pick your top three and…
