Travel: 3 Days in Manama
Here you go, 3 days in Manama, Bahrain – that’s right, here’s a recap of our trip to the Kingdom of Bahrain. From sights to eats, we’ll share with you how we spent our three days. Quick note, if you’re visiting for a race, you probably only need an extra day or two to take in all the sights. There’s a lot of culture and history in Manama, yet it won’t take you days and days to see. Not like in Mexico City where we stayed for a week after the race.

Sights and Activities
We arrived on a Gulf Air flight from Dubai early in the morning and were lucky to score an early checkin. After we checked in, got some water and snacks, we took off to the Bahrain Fort and then spent the afternoon at the Manama Souq having one of the best Indian food meals of al time. That evening we had dinner at Fusions and enjoyed a late night walk.
On day two we checked out the Al Fateh Grand Mosque, the National Museum of Bahrain. Both worth while visiting. When we visited the National Museum we could see a few cruise ships in the bay and buses at the Mosque made it evident that Manama is a stop on a Persian Gulf Cruise – most were from eastern Europe.
For the third day we kept things quite casual, visiting Juffair beach and the mall before departing on Qatar Airways for Doha.
All in all, we had an awesome time in Manama – worth visiting for sure. When I was building our itinerary for our Persian Gulf trip, I wasn’t sure about adding Manama to the schedule. Often people visit Dubai for 5=8 days and I slotted us for 4. We did discuss skipping Manama, Bahrain and adding time to Dubai. In the end, though, we’re not heavily into some experiences that might draw others to Dubai (think extraordinary things like skydiving, or long activities like golfing or heading into the desert for an adventure) – not this trip.
Overall, I’m so happy we kept Manama on the schedule – if you’re wavering, add it. Even for 2 days, it’s worth it!
