Travel: Avatāra
Avatāra is a stunning Michelin star restaurant in Dubai – it’s a vegetarian Indian find dining experience. With an 18 course menu, flavours from sweet to sour, and spicy to salty, it was a highlight of our time in Dubai. Okay, let’s check out the menu, the food, and the experience!
First, up, if you’re looking for an in-depth look, you can check out the Avatāra site for all the details. Okay, photo time!

The dinning room is stunning, light, and feels elegantly comfortable. Plus, tables all face the pass – and we had a front row seat.
Okay, time for the first six courses – they come on a stunning tower and each bite takes you on a journey. Starting with a sweet bite topped with popping sugar, then a charred pepper and peanut relish dish, and topped off with a corn and picked radish (this one was a favourite of mine!). Then, a braised red beet, followed by a sweet potato topped with mango curry, and to finish a black lime pickle dish. So good!
Beautiful, eh?
Okay – here are the rest of the 18 courses. We had dishes like grilled watermelon with tomato water, achari broccolini with panch phoron asparagus and candied walnuts. One of my favourites was the sunchoke modak and the coorg spiced jackfruit was a hit, too. Okay, more food photos!
Before the dessert courses started the chef stopped by our table and after a little conversation he decided to bring us each an additional serving of our favourite dishes. Bryce and I each got one from the first tower, hello popping candy! Note, they were as good the second time around!
Now, time for dessert.
Well, there you have it – our dining experience at Avatāra!
Thanks for stopping by and happy eating – or travelling to eat!
