Travel: Bahrain National Museum
The Bahrain National Museum is in the nation’s capital, Manama and it’s in a prime location, right on the water and close to downtown. If you’re wanting to learn about the history of Bahrain’s people and the country, then check it out! A top highlight was the art centre – so much stunning Persian Gulf art. Okay, photos!
Bahrain National Museum
First, the entry – it’s secure and easy to walk to if you’re in the area.
The lawn is full of art, too, which is so neat.
The cost is minimal – I think it was around a dollar Canadian. When we visited there were 3 tour groups going through and we started at the opposite end so we weren’t crowded. Overall, we spent about 90 minutes at the museum, which is a nice way to spend an afternoon.
Okay, once you enter the building, there’s a section to the left that’s full of Islamic Art – it was a definite highlight – let’s check it out.
Neat, eh? I really liked this migration piece.
The rest of the museum is divided into 6 sections, across two levels. We learned about trade routes, housing, historical political systems, and so much more. Most of the displays are in dual languages, with English being one of them, so it was easy for us to learn.
Well, there you have it, the Bahrain National Museum. From art to maps, the museum has it all – even a cafe and a snack shop. It’s open every day except Tuesday, from 9am – 8pm.
If you’re in Manama, then for sure check it out – and save some time to spend outside the building, there’s a lot of special sculpture art. Walk out front of the building, too – see the water front and more art.
Thanks for stopping by and happy travelling!
See you again soon.
