Travel: Beach Motel

The Beach Motel in Hervey Bay – it’s an adorable little place that’s right in the city centre with a pool, a barbeque area, and they even have laundry on site, too! The rooms are spacious, clean, and it’s walking distance to Shelly Beach.

Hervey Bay

First up, we got a standard room – it was the most economical and oddly came with a queen bed and a single. The extra room was nice! The rooms are basic and offer a mini-fridge, a small area for food prep, and have a kettle, too. You could probably make due eating in, yet you’d have to be strategic with your food prep. Like the last place we stayed, 1770, it’s one of the most minimal kitchens we had on our trip.

We often like to pick places with small kitchens since on a long vacation, sometimes you just want to cook dinner yourself. Okay, photos!

We were on the ground floor and paid a little under $80 Canadian per night. The smaller sink area and bathroom are at the back – through the opening. The toilet and shower are in a separate room, which is nice. The bed was comfortable, which is a bonus.

One thing that’s a little odd is the TV – it’s so tiny, you can see it on the right in the photo below. The couch is great, but it’s so far away for such a smaller TV. Either way, it didn’t really matter since we spent most of our time out and about in Hervey Bay.

Overall, it’s a great place if you’re in the area. Plus, in addition to Hervey Bay being a gateway to Fraser Island, there are other things to do. Check out the Botanical Gardens or the Urangan Pier – both worth checking out.
